As the temperature drops and the leaves change color, so do jewelry trends. Vintage and Big and Bold is where it’s at for fall 2023.

Here are some of the key trends to keep an eye on:

Vintage-Inspired Pieces

Art Nouveau & Art Deco

Vintage-inspired jewelry is making a comeback this fall, with many designers drawing inspiration from the Art nouveau and Art Deco periods.

Art Nouveau jewelry is so recognizable for its use of free flowing, delicate and curving lines in a naturalistic but dreamlike way.  It emphasizes heavenly, natural themes. It was a relatively short movement lasting from approximately 1985 until the beginning of WWI in 1914.

Art Deco jewelry is characterized by geometric shapes, bold colors, and intricate designs…larger than life! The elaborate designs exhibit mathematical elegance and fewer diamonds than other jewelry eras. The Art Deco period was between 1920 and 1935.

Brooches

Brooches were a popular accessory in the past, and they are set to make a comeback this fall. Vintage-inspired brooches can be worn on clothing, hats, or bags to add a touch of elegance and sophistication to any outfit. These pieces are often made from precious metals and feature intricate designs.

Cameo Jewelry

Cameo jewelry features a carved image of a person or scene on a stone or shell. Cameo jewelry can be worn as a necklace, brooch, or bracelet and is perfect for adding a touch of vintage charm to any outfit.

Statement Earrings

Statement earrings have been popular for a few years now, and they’re particularly hot this fall—a must-have fashion accessory. From hoops to colorful tassels, there is a statement earring for every style.

This August, look out for bold geometric shapes and mixed metals. These earrings make a statement on their own and can easily elevate any outfit. Don’t be afraid to mix and match different styles for a unique and personalized look.

In addition to their fashion-forward appeal, statement earrings also make for great conversation starters. So, whether you’re attending a formal event or just heading out for a casual day, be sure to add a pair of statement earrings to your jewelry collection.

Look for oversized hoops, chandelier earrings, and drop earrings in unique shapes and styles. Have fun and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone!

Layered Necklaces

In the world of fashion, accessories play a vital role in completing a look. One of the hottest trends of 2023 are layered necklaces. Layered necklaces are perfect for adding some flair and personality to any outfit.

Whether you’re dressing up for a night out or keeping it casual during the day, layered necklaces are versatile and can be styled in a multitude of ways. They come in a variety of lengths and designs, making it easy to mix and match to create a look that is uniquely yours.

Chunky Chains

Chunky chains have been a hit this year, and they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. This fall, expect to see even chunkier chains, with oversized links and bold designs. They’re perfect for adding some edge to any outfit.

Colored Gemstones

As we look ahead to the year 2023, it’s clear that colored gemstones will continue to be a popular choice and a major trend this fall. From deep blues and purples to bright greens and yellows, they’re a great way to add a pop of color to any outfit.

Colored Gems Trend 1: Bold, vibrant colors

One of the biggest trends we expect to see in 2023 is a focus on bold, vibrant colors. Consumers will be drawn to gemstones with intense hues, such as deep blues, rich greens, and bright pinks. These colors will be especially popular in statement pieces, such as cocktail rings and large pendant necklaces.

Colored Gems Trend 2: Unique cuts and shapes

Another trend we expect to see in 2023 is a focus on unique cuts and shapes. Consumers will be drawn to gemstones that have been cut in unusual ways, such as asymmetrical shapes and freeform cuts. These cuts will add a touch of individuality and personality to jewelry pieces.

Colored Gems Trend 3: Sustainable sourcing

Finally, we expect to see a continued emphasis on sustainable sourcing in the colored gemstone industry. Consumers will be more interested than ever in knowing where their gemstones come from and how they were mined. As a result, we expect to see more companies offering transparent sourcing information and working to minimize their environmental impact.

Pearls

Pearls are a timeless classic, and they’re going to be popular this fall. Look for modern twists on the classic pearl, such as asymmetrical designs and mixed metals.

Mixed Metals

Mixed metals are expected to experience some significant trends. From the rise of sustainable materials to the increasing demand for unique designs, the industry is set for some exciting developments.

As more consumers become conscious of their environmental impact, there’s a growing demand for materials that are eco-friendly and sustainable. In response, manufacturers are exploring new ways to incorporate recycled and renewable materials into their products.

Whether it’s combining gold and silver or mixing copper and brass, designers are starting to experiment with new pairings through mixed metals to create unique designs.

It’s also on-trend to mix and match metals in the pieces you wear together. This fall, mixing gold, silver, and rose gold is the way to go. Don’t be afraid to layer different metal tones and pair distinctive pieces to show off your personalized and individual style.

As you stock your jewelry box for the fall season, keep these trends in mind. By having a mix of vintage-inspired pieces, statement earrings, layered necklaces, chunky chains, colored gemstones, pearls, and mixed metals, you’re sure to have just the right statement piece no matter what you’re wearing.
