Have you ever heard the saying…”Curiosity killed the cat”? Cats are naturally curious animals. They can get into quite a variety of predicaments by just checking things out either around the house or when they’re out and about exploring outdoors. I have always been naturally curious…for as long as I can remember. I just want to learn and explore and keep my mind active by discovering and doing new things. I have serious FOMO – Fear of Missing Out!! And there’s plenty of things to research and experience in this big wide world!
I’m especially intrigued when I hear or read something which is completely outside my normal thought process. I rarely dismiss any new thought or idea or information. My curious nature kicks in and I’d rather ask questions, start digging, and then either confirm my original beliefs or throw those out and go forward with a new understanding. I’m always bewildered when people react the exact opposite way and have no desire to hear or learn something new.
Their cognitive dissonance kicks in and they go blindly forward with a closed mind so as not to disturb their current thought process or way of doing things. Sometimes they even get angry when you challenge their reality by presenting an opposing view.
I have always been a “truth seeker”. Sometimes things I learn are not exactly pleasant– or quite horribly disturbing actually – but nonetheless, I don’t ever stop my quest to know the truth!
Another saying is “what I don’t know, can’t hurt me”. I say, “what I don’t know, keeps me in a state of ignorance”. So, keep informing me…keep educating me…keep challenging me…keep me on my toes. May I never accept the norm! May I find new exciting ways to live my life!
I hope I always operate with an open mind and heart. What is your philosophy? Open and curious – or – happy in your current state of never stepping outside your current reality. If that works for you then keep on that path. But if you’re not afraid to be a “curious cat”, you may discover many new things! After all, we don’t know what we don’t know! Right? It’s my mission to keep learning for my entire lifetime and sharing my findings with others open to hearing new and interesting things.
P. S. Connect with me if you’ve got something to share with me. I’ll be we can have some really cool and deep discussions!
