Made in the USA and based in New York, VAHAN was founded by French designer Leon “Sacha” Der Calousdian in 1968.
After studying at the prestigious jewelry design school La Chambre Syndicale de la Bijouterie in Paris, Sacha designed jewelry for brands such as Hermès, Cartier, and David Webb before starting his own company, Alwand Vahan.
In 2009, Sacha’s son Greg joined the company as VP of Design, bringing his own artistic sensibilities that have helped develop the core VAHAN styles.
Today VAHAN is most frequently recognized for its uniquely textured bracelets, which are the brand’s most widely demanded look. Part of VAHAN’s appeal is the aesthetic of the 14k gold, sterling silver, diamonds, and semi-precious stone combinations.

Our diamonds are certified and ethically sourced. They are SI1-SI2 clarity and G-H color. All stones are mounted in 14k gold to ensure the highest quality setting.
Starting from hand-drawn sketches, each piece of jewelry is designed and produced in the USA. VAHAN was founded in 1968 by classically trained French Designer Sacha Der Calousdian. From a modest, one-man, Manhattan-based studio, Sacha has grown the company into a leading American-made, family-run jewelry brand.
VAHAN designs are easily recognized by our trademark gold crown petals and textured bracelet bands known as Moiré Beaded®. This look sets us apart from other brands. All VAHAN bracelets are made flat along the inside to ensure absolute comfort without sacrificing style and have a patented hidden clasp. In addition, they are oval-shaped rather than circular to prevent the bracelets from rolling over. This keeps the most eye-catching part of the bracelet facing up. All bands are flexible for ease of wear, and highly resilient. The bands also have a limited lifetime warranty.
