How to Make Five Strangers Happy This Holiday Season

Can you imagine if you were filling up your car with gas, buying a coffee at Starbucks, standing in the grocery line at your local supermarket, getting your nails done at the salon, or eating at your favorite restaurant….and a complete stranger randomly came up to you with a smile on their face, wished you happy holidays and handed you a $5 gift card for that particular business just to offer some holiday cheer! Wouldn’t that just make your day? Wouldn’t that be the coolest thing?

I’ve tried it, and the reactions have been priceless. It’s not the amount that counts, it’s the gesture. Sometimes the smallest amounts make the biggest of impacts because it was unexpected and thoughtful. Seriously, I’ve given $5 gift cards, and you would think I gave them $100…that’s how amazed and grateful people are. People will look at you in disbelief, smile, and usually thank you profusely. I’ve even had someone get scared and refuse it, maybe thinking it was a scam. Poor thing.
